A wheel speed sensor for a vehicle adaptive braking system is installed within the vehicle hub cap so that the hub cap and speed sensor assembly are installed on the vehicle wheel as a unit. The speed sensor includes a rotor assembly which is rotatable with the hub cap, and a stator assembly which includes a bearing which slidably and rotatably receives a spindle which is integral with the hub cap. A tang projects from the stator assembly and is received in a corresponding slot on the vehicle axle to prevent relative rotation between the sensor assembly and the axle. A spring is provided which rotates with the hub cap and which yieldably urges the stator into engagement with the end of the vehicle axle. The invention relates to a control and regulation technique and can be used to measure the vehicle wheel rotation speed in an adaptive system of optimal braking. Known pulse speed sensors, built on various physical phenomena, used to measure the rotation speed of various 10 shafts and mechanisms [1]. The closest in technical essence to the proposed one is a speed sensor containing a rotor and a stator, the tail of which is 15 cylindrical, hollow and placed in the support element on the track | however, it is equipped with an elastic clamp placed on the element [2]. The disadvantages of the known device ~ 20 VA include the need to adjust when installing the speed sensor on the "measurement object and the associated decrease in measurement accuracy during operation due to backlash. 25 The purpose of the invention is to improve the accuracy of measurements by eliminating backlash. This goal is achieved by the fact that in the block of the wheel speed sensor 3Q of the vehicle, comprising a rotor mounted coaxially in the wheel hub cover, an annular stator rigidly connected through the bushing to the end of the wheel axis, and a sliding bearing, the hub cover is equipped with a spindle on which it is movable in in the axial direction there is a liner with a flange mounted in a sliding bearing, and an elastic element is located between the hub cap and the liner flange. In FIG. 1 shows the design of the sensor and its installation on the axis of the wheel and in the hub of the vehicle; in FIG. 2 is a section AA in FIG. 1) in FIG. 3 - section BB in FIG. 1. The vehicle wheel speed sensor unit consists of a gear rotor 1 mounted in the hub 2 and a stator 3 mounted through a sliding bearing on the shaft 4. The stator comprises a housing 5 on a bearing with a liner 6 with a flange. The hub cover is provided with a spindle 7, the length of which is greater than the length of the bearing 6. Between the hub cover 2 and the flange of the plain bearing insert, an elastic element 8 is installed, on Λ 791268 ·· - - · 4 an example is a coil spring that compresses the bearing shell to the left so that the stator housing 3 abuts against the end of the shaft 4. Two disks 9 and 10 are installed on the stator housing 3, provided at the periphery with teeth (see FIG. 3) that are identical in pitch to the rotor teeth (see FIG. 2). Between the disks on the stator housing there is a permanent magnet 11 and a measuring winding 12, the terminals 13 of which are located in the hollow shaft 4. The disk 9 is equipped with a shank 14, which enters the groove on the outer surface of the shaft and prevents the stator housing from turning. The device operates as follows. During the rotation of the rotor installed in the hub cap, the magnetic flux is modulated by changing the magnetic resistance when the teeth of the rotor and stator coincide and do not coincide. A change in the magnetic flux induces electrical pulses in the measuring winding that enter the logical unit of the adaptive optimal braking system. The implementation of the hub cover with a spindle, an elastic element and insert insert allows to exclude the sensor adjustment when installing it on an object, eliminates backlash and ensures uniform air gap, which increases the measurement accuracy.

Claims (1) [1] Claim A vehicle wheel speed sensor unit comprising a rotor mounted coaxially in the wheel hub cover, an annular stator rigidly connected through a bushing to the end of the wheel axis, and a sliding bearing, characterized in that, in order to increase the accuracy of measuring the sensor by eliminating backlash, the hub cap is equipped with a spindle on which axially movable is placed, an insert with a flange mounted in the sliding bearing 20, and an elastic element is located between the hub cap and the insert flange.
